I found a delicious yarn at my local yarn store this week and was inspired to work up some heart pencil toppers! I’ve never crocheted with a superwash wool and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was to work with. It was softer than non-superwash wools I’ve crocheted with but it still had some of the structural characteristics I like of wool. It’s a hand dyed colorway and I wasn’t sure how it would look as a heart but it turned out great!
I decided after making it I’d use some other yarns from my stash to make several others. I’ll probably be listing some finished product pencil hearts in my Etsy shop to help pay for my yarn addiction! If you’d like to make some of your own, you can find my pattern ready for instant download on Ravelry or at Craftsy.
I’ve also been working super hard this week on getting my blog the way I’d like it with links and an e-mail post tab. It was looking awesome at 8pm last night before I did something…hmmm…not sure what…now the individual posts have my sidebar but for some reason my .com address doesn’t. If any of you know about WordPress and have idea what I can do to fix it I would be soooo thrilled! I was up until 11:15pm last night trying to figure it out and I’m a bit frustrated now…
Happy to join in the fun sharing finished objects today with the talented folks over at Tami’s Ami’s, Frontier Dreams, and Natural Suburbia.

Such a cute idea!
I think the hand-dyed looks excellent in the heart! They’re super cute.
Thanks so much! I love it! There’s just enough variation in color…wish I could have captured it better on film!
Very cute idea. I used to love adorning my pencils when I was in grammar school.
Me too! I love too that it’s a “toy” that kids are allowed to have in school as long as it’s not disruptive. For kids that need something to play with in their hands this can be a lifesaver – I’m guessing that’s why I loved them so much as a kid!!!
Lovely hearts.! Great idea for the pencils.
Thanks for stopping by my FO
